| SPD

Surfactant Associated Protein D (SPD) is a pattern-recognition molecule that is an important component of the mucosal immune system of the reproductive tract (FRT). In addition to its host defense function in the FRT, it has an immunomodulatory role in labor and preterm delivery. Its deficiency affects the fertility of female organisms, highlighting the role of SPD in ovarian and uterine physiology.
